Elevated Coastal Pool Retreat

This Fairhope outdoor living concept transforms a sloped backyard into a layered resort-style retreat designed for relaxation, entertaining, and year-round enjoyment. The elevated home layout created an opportunity to introduce multiple gathering spaces connected by wide architectural steps, retaining walls, and carefully integrated landscaping that softens the transition between levels.

At the center of the design is a geometric pool paired with a raised spa and cascading water feature that adds movement and visual balance to the space. Beneath the covered upper deck, shaded lounge seating extends the usability of the patio while maintaining clear views across the water and surrounding landscape. A diving board, sun lounging areas, and open deck space create flexibility for both family recreation and quiet evenings outdoors.

Tropical plantings, layered palms, and low-profile privacy hedging frame the pool environment while reinforcing the warm coastal character often associated with Fairhope living. The lower fire lounge introduces an additional destination within the landscape, offering a more intimate setting for conversation and nighttime ambiance while complementing the natural elevation changes throughout the property.

Designed as a cohesive outdoor living vision, the project balances architecture, hardscape, and planting design to create a private backyard environment that feels connected, functional, and visually refined from every angle of the home.
